PRO Kickboxing is back in Ontario and history is made!

The second bout pitted USA Champion – Ben Acosta of Texas – against Intercontinental Champion – Brad Fowler of London, Ontario. Fowler also brought a large cheering squad who encouraged their valiant warrior through this bout. Acosta started out the bout displaying incredible kicking skills. He threw jump kicks, spin kicks, head kicks throughout the earlier rounds of their scheduled 8 round bout. By the 3 round, Fowler was breaking Acosta’s timing and landing hard body punches and counters attacks with both hands and feet. Fowler ramped out the pace by round 4 sensing the tide swaying in his favor. After a punishing combination near the end of the round – referee Vic Provost of Ottawa stepped in and stopped the bout. The TKO victory for Fowler moved him to the number #1 contender position in the welterweight division and a definite shot at a World Title.

Welcome to the KICK-START Development Program

In addition to this memo outlining the KICK-START Program you will receive a copy of the student manual, training logs (more will be available upon request) and an enrollment form.

Note: The KICK-START Program is not mandatory for Beginner Level Members however, we would encourage everyone to take part. You must be enrolled to take part in Intermediate & Advanced Classes.

What is the KICK-START Program?

The Program was designed as a foundational stream with four specific levels of achievement. Once a Student has progressed through all four levels they will have acquired all the fundamental skills of Kickboxing.

What are the benefits of the KICK-START Program?

Gives a clear path to insure all students acquire the fundamental skills
Encourages Students to set goals for themselves. Students are encouraged to share their goals with the Instructors. (Instructors like nothing more than watching a student achieve their goals)
The Program also allows Instructors to keep the classes interesting by teaching students who are ready new and interesting techniques.

What is the cost of the Program?

There is no enrollment fee, however students are required to purchase 3 uniform T-Shirts @ $15.00 each.
Gradings will be scheduled every 4 to 6 weeks; students must obtain approval from instructors prior to signing up for the grading.
The fee for each grading is $70 which includes 3 new T-Shirts indicating you have reached the next level.

Prerequisites for the Program

**Uniform T-Shirt Must be worn in all classes!!**

NOVICE: Fitness Apparel, Hand Wraps, Eagerness to Learn & Improve
INTERMEDIATE: Successful Completion of Novice Curriculum, Bag Gloves a must
ADVANCED: Successful Completion of Intermediate Curriculum, Mouth Piece
ELITE: Successful Completion of Advanced Curriculum, Sparring Equipment

Please note: The Kickboxing schedule will be changing as of February 1st , 2009 to accommodate the new program. All Novice Level participants as well as unregistered members can participate in the Beginner Class.
The first grading for Novice & Intermediate Level Members will be Saturday February 7th, 2009. If you feel you are ready please sign up for the grading at reception.
